May 2025 - School News

School News - May 19th 2025

We're frequently asked at this time of the year if the school is  "winding down" as we approach the summer holidays in just a few weeks but I can assure you that nothing could be further from the truth........

May & June are extremely busy months for both teachers and pupils in our school. There are such a variety of activities going on such as school tours, standardised testing, sports matches, Active Schools Week, Graduation Day, Confirmation, First Holy Communion, Grandparents Day, etc., etc.......

If you have a few minutes to spare you can click on this link to see what's been going on in Scoil Naomh Feichin over the last week or so ---- the main highlight being the Confirmation ceremony which took place on Sunday last.

We're doing a lot of work at the moment to prepare for the start of the new school year at the end of August and I'll have some more information on that next week.
We're also working on arrangements relating to the Summer Programme and the introduction of the new Bí Cinealta policy and procedures which aim to support school communities to prevent and address bullying behaviour.

I'll keep you updated on all of the above over the coming weeks.

Best wishes,
Bryan Collins -- Principal

Bí Cineálta Procedures to Prevent and Address Bullying Behaviour

for Primary and Post-Primary Schools

Please be advised that Scoil Naomh Feichín will close for a half day on Wednesday, May 7th 2025 to facilitate a Bí Cineálta staff workshop. All students will finish at 1:20 PM on this day.

The Bí Cineálta initiative is a new national framework designed to prevent and address bullying in schools. To help you understand the key aspects of Bí Cineálta I have attached a link to a short information video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zH569kMY_WY

As part of our commitment to fostering a positive school culture, we will work closely with the whole school community to develop and review our Bí Cineálta Policy.

We value your input and will be seeking feedback from parents/guardians as we implement this initiative. A survey will be circulated to parents/guardians, pupils and staff over the coming weeks and your feedback will play a key role in shaping how we put Bí Cineálta into practice.
