The Role of Parents
At Scoil Naomh Feichín, we recognise and value the important role that parents play in their children’s education. As the primary educators of their children, parents are an essential part of the partnership between home and school.
We greatly appreciate the support, cooperation and involvement of our parents in their children’s education. Open and effective communication between home and school is vital in supporting each child’s development, wellbeing and educational success.
We value our parents as an important part of our school community and look forward to working together to ensure that every child is supported to reach their full potential.
Our Parents’ Association
The Parents’ Association (PA) provides an important structure through which the parents and guardians of pupils at Scoil Naomh Feichín can work together to support and promote the best possible educational experience for their children.
The PA works in partnership with the Board of Management, Principal, teachers and pupils, contributing to the development of our school community and supporting the education and wellbeing of all our children. The Parents’ Association operates in accordance with the provisions of the Education Act 1998.
Scoil Naomh Feichín is fortunate to have a very active and supportive Parents Association. Regular meetings are held in the school to discuss new fundraising ideas and initiatives.
Over the years the Parents Association have led many initiatives such as:
- Design your own Christmas Card project
- Sponsored Walk in June
- Christmas Online Raffle
- Pupil Insurance
Visiting speakers are sometimes invited to give presentations to parents - e.g. CyberBullying
Volunteers from the Parents Association also generously help with the catering and organisation of the functions in the school hall after the Confirmation & First Communion ceremonies.
Fundraising organised by the Parents Association in Scoil Naomh Feichín is usually used to purchase additional resources for the school.
